App Privacy
FindDiskKiller is designed so that monitoring and analysis happen entirely on your Mac.
What the app accesses
- Process information: names, PIDs, CPU usage, memory usage — to populate the process list and activity charts.
- Disk I/O statistics: per-process and per-device read/write counters, available through standard macOS APIs.
- Network statistics: per-process bytes sent and received.
- File system events: directory-level change notifications (FSEvents), only during active monitoring.
- File access tracing: per-process I/O request sizes, only when you explicitly start tracing a specific file or directory.
- SMART/NVMe health data: temperature, lifetime host reads/writes, wear indicators, power-on hours — only the fields that macOS and your drive hardware make available.
What is not collected or transmitted
The current version does not upload:
- Process names, paths, or command-line arguments.
- File paths, file contents, or directory listings.
- Disk serial numbers, volume names, or UUIDs.
- Monitoring history, charts, or accumulated metrics.
- Any form of analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage data.
The app contains no advertising SDKs, no third-party tracking frameworks, and no analytics libraries.
What “current version” means
This privacy statement describes the behavior of the current release. If future versions introduce network functionality for features such as update checking, the app will clearly disclose what is sent, the privacy policy will be updated before the release, and Apple’s required privacy manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) will be updated to match.
